Wahh! i can't put that pretty web band on my blog.. i dunno why.. sad.
anyway.. it's some kinda anti-racism thing.
EMBRACE DIVERSITY
STOP THE HATE
i can't stand racists either. i think male chuavinists might be racist.

anyway.. chemistry paper 1 is on tuesday!

-all sulphates are soluble except Calcium, Barium, Lead.
-all chlorides are soluble except Lead n Silver.
-all carbonates are INsoluble except Sodium, Potassium, Ammonia.
-all nitrates are soluble.

is salt soluble?
-no: PRECIPITATION - mix solutions of two soluble salts to precipitate insoluble salts.
then... filter off, wash and dry btwn filter papers.

-yes: react with alkali/metal oxide/metal carbonate

is metal oxide/hydroxide/carbonate soluble?
-yes: TITRATION - mix acid and alkali to produce salt
HCl + NaOH --> NaCl + H2O

no: mix acid and excess metal oxide/carbonate
>filter off excess base carbonate, evaporate the filtrate, obtain salt.

-metal + acid = salt + hydrogen
-acid + base = salt + water
-acid + carbonate = salt + water + carbon dioxide

oxidation is...
-gain of oxygen
-loss of hydrogen
-increase in oxidation no.
-loss of electrons
reduction is...
-loss of hydrogen
-gain of hydrogen
-decrease in oxidation no.
-gain of electrons

A MATH is on monday.
i'll consider whether to type the formulaes in.
i think no.

ok..

i'll add in more info later..

love, peixuan.
